Membership

Temple Emanu-El draws its members from Dothan and surrounding cities in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.  Also included among Temple Emanu-El's current membership are individuals who have relocated to the South from northern areas.

Our congregation is truly like a family in which all Jews are welcome, no matter what their religious background or training may have been.  We also welcome non-Jewish spouses.  The sense of family and friendship is obvious from the moment one enters our building.  Members receive our monthly bulletin, voting privileges, access to education programs, use of the Temple library, a subscription to Reform Judaism magazine and the knowledge that they are helping to support a unique, close-knit Jewish community.  But most importantly, members have the knowledge that they are a vital living link in the “chain” of Judaism, actively helping to keep it intact - just as their ancestors have done for over three thousand years.

The Rabbi and the President of Temple Emanu-El are always available to answer questions and to talk to prospective members about the congregation.  Please feel free to e-mail or call the temple at any time.
