“You shall teach them diligently to your children..” (Deuteronomy 6: 7)
At Temple Emanu-El, we are committed to life-long learning, beginning with our children. Using the innovative Institute of Southern Jewish Living curriculum, religious school begins at the preschool age and continues through Confirmation at age 15. Because of the relatively small size of our school, we pride ourselves on our ability to offer a quality education in small classes in a family environment. The students look forward to seeing each other each week and participating in the activities done on a school-wide basis.
Our students learn Jewish holidays, ethics, culture, and history as well as Bible, and of course, Hebrew in preparation for Bar or Bat Mitzvah. They learn in an atmosphere that is serious but is also fun. Some of our students have mentioned that they look forward to Sundays all week long...and the same is certainly true of our teachers!
